Rain On The Ground

from Cold Lights On Curious Minds by Jordan Millar

/

lyrics

In the corner of this room you sit and wait
With the goosebumps on neck that you can’t shake
And the pillow full of tears you tried to break
Is this how its supposed to end?

Well it’s a hand that’s stretching to touch with yours
It’s a love that you’ll spend all life fighting for
It’s a dream that they’ll come crashing through your door
That echoes through the night, and that echoes round the walls

But on and on we seem to fall over
And on and on we try to stand taller

It’s like
Rain on the ground that doesn’t fall
It’s things that we should have seen before
We keep on searching for some more
But we wont find what we’re looking for
We won’t find it at all

And we’re reaching for someone to explain
How the hell we all got stuck into this place
We’re a map without a compass, and we’re a poem never read
We keep looking round for answers, when we know that they’re not there

But on and on we seem to fall over
And on and on we try to stand taller

It’s like
Rain on the ground that doesn’t fall
It’s things that we should have seen before
We keep on searching for some more
But we wont find what we’re looking for
We won’t find it at all
